Each year WISOMMM sponsors an annual back-to-school youth festival; a fun filled event that showcases the talents and aspirations of kids in the greater Newark community.

Talent shows, arts and crafts, essay contests and other positive youth activities bring kids and their families together to share food, music, and fun in Newark’s historic Lincoln Park. Winners of the annual essay contest are invited to attend WISOMMM’s annual African Ball.

The festival is aimed at deterring youth related violence, and encouraging students to persevere
and stay focused in school. All activities are free
to the public. Resources are donated by local
municipalities, corporations and small businesses.
