Pictorial Overview (Book)

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and heal their land.” It has been an amazingly awesome ten years, since we sat around our dining room table and declared that we, Women In Support of the Million Man March, would support our men in traveling to Washington D.C. for the Historic Million Man March! I can not thank Almighty God enough for the vision of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and his calling for a Million Black Men, who stopped the world on October 16, 1995 at the seat of the Nation in Washington, D.C. That, brothers and sisters, was a glimpse of heaven.

The remarkable women that I have been blessed to work with are equally amazing. Their dedication, commitment, and not only getting things done, but getting things done with excellence is inspiring! WISOMMM is striving to organize in our communities the way that Luther, Ella, Marvin, Barry White and Ray Charles sang. The way that Fannie Lou, Rosa Parks and Harriett Tubman struggled and enjoyed victories. The way that Johnnie Cochran and Judge Bruce Wright took command of the court room. The way that Ozzie Davis took command of the stage. Our daughters Aminah Bey and Akiba Onque have been involved since its inception and are poised, dedicated and highly qualified to continue this work when we become their ancestors.

Purchasing property and becoming a part of an institution that will service the needs of Black people has been a dream of mine for many years. It is an awesome task to dream, much less to realize. So if I lived a million years I could not thank Almighty God enough for blessing us to pray together (Muslim, Christian, Catholic sisters), and stay together for 10 years, and counting.

We need your help! Grant writers, Fund-Raisers, Consultants; we need help with the Boycott Crime Campaign and helping our children understand that they must stop killing each other and filling up the “Prison Industrial Complex.” We need your help with the “Rites of Passage” for Boys and Girls, the Breast Cancer Support Group, WISOMMM Holistic Child Care Center and our Capital Campaign to restore The African American Education and Cultural Resource Center back to its pristine splendor. Our beautiful Black children deserve no less!

Looking forward to seeing you in Washington D.C. at the Millions More Movement as Black women have received a special invitation to take a prime role along side our men and come back and mobilize, organize, create businesses, schools, and move the dollar around seven times in our community before it leaves, and create a “Spirit of love, trust and respect in the Black Community! “Victory Belongs to those who believe!” We Believe! Long Live The Spirit of the Million Man March!
